Hutan Harapan Management became the first manager of the ecosystem restoration (RE) concession in the country which stated commitments to respect human rights (human rights, social and community involvement, Social and Community Engagement Commitments (HARSCEC). This commitment is a reference in the management of Hutan Harapan which is located in Jambi and South Sumatra.

This HARSCEC commitment was stated in a document and announced at a public consultation event in Palembang on November 30, 2015, and in Jambi on December 2, 2015. The commitment was read in front of Ministry of Environment and Forestry officials, local government, NGO activists, such as the Alliance of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (AMAN), Wahana Bumi Hijau, The Indonesian Forum for Environment (Walhi) South Sumatra, Hutan Kita Institute, Greenpeace International, Muba Concern Community Communication Forum, Palembang Archipelago Pillars, and the Indonesian HUMA Association.

In addition, there were also representatives of the United Nations Development Project (UNDP), Walhi Jambi, KKI Warsi, CAPPA, Agra, traditional leaders/community leaders, the Indonesian Peasant Union (SPI), The National Commission on Human Rights, academics, nature lovers groups, and companies the company next to Hutan Harapan and media workers.
