Hutan Harapan proudly announces the launch of “Tumble in the Jungle,” for mountain bike enthusiasts to pursue their passion in a forest setting.   As an ecosystem restoration concession, Hutan Harapan is a unique forest that should not only be enjoyed by environmentalists, foresters, and researchers but also open to everyone.Hutan Harapan, with the generous support of the Royal Denmark Embassy in Jakartais sponsoring “Tumble in the Jungle,” a cross-country mountain bike race through Hutan Harapan’s forest.

The Tumble in the Jungle will be held on October1st 2017, with a track of 30 KM consisting of logging road and easy to challenging off-road trails.The participants will spend three days living in the middle of forest living in a rustic setting.  All accommodation and transportation from Jambi to Hutan Harapan will be provided. Given the remote location, the number of participants will be limited to 100, on first come first served basis.

The total prize money is IDR 70 million or USD 5,263. To be eligible for the race the participants are required to register online (register here).  Registration will be opened on June 23rd 2017. The registration fee for international participants is USD 200 and for domestic participants is USD 100. The registration fee will cover accommodation at the site and transportation from Jambi to the event site.

The event will not only promote the importance of protecting Indonesia’s rainforests but also support mountain biking in Sumatra.
